Torch & Seek
Last updated: 11 October 2026
Power Cut has no account, no sign-up and no server. Your progress stays on your phone.
We never receive anything about you. The only data that leaves the device is what Google's advertising SDK collects to show ads between nights, and that data contains nothing from your game.
Power Cut is a game. The torch is drawn on the screen: the app never turns on your phone's real flashlight or uses its camera.
Everything Power Cut remembers is kept in one small file in the app's private storage on your device:
None of this is sent to us or to anyone else by the app. The game makes no network request of its own, and plays without a network.
No cloud backup. Power Cut does not take part in Android's backup, so your progress is not copied to your Google account. If you uninstall the app or move to a new phone, your progress starts again.
Power Cut is free, and is paid for by ads. There is one kind, and it never appears while you are playing:
There is never an ad during a night, on the title screen or in the pause menu, and there are no banner ads.
Ads are served by Google AdMob through the Google Mobile Ads SDK. The app asks only for ads suitable for a general audience (rated PG at most), and passes nothing about your game to the ads SDK. To serve and measure ads and to prevent fraud, the SDK collects and sends to Google:
This data goes to Google, not to us, and is handled under Google's Privacy Policy. See how Google uses information from apps that use its services at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
Consent. Where the law requires it, including in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, the app asks for your consent using Google's consent message before any ad is requested. You can change your choice later: tap "Privacy choices" on the title screen.
Your controls. You can reset or delete your advertising ID at any time in your phone's settings, under Google, then Ads.
| Permission | Why | Status |
|---|---|---|
| Vibration | Short haptic taps when you find something, startle the cat or smack the torch. Switch them off in the pause menu | Silent |
| Internet and network state | Ads. The game makes no request of its own | Silent |
| Advertising ID | Used by the Google Mobile Ads SDK | Ads |
| Wake lock and foreground service | Added by Google's ads library for its own background tasks | Silent |
Power Cut does not ask for camera, flashlight, storage, photo library, location, contacts, microphone, notifications, phone or SMS permission.
Power Cut has no purchases. Everything in the game is free to play.
There is nothing to request from us, because we hold nothing.
Power Cut is made for teenagers and adults. It is not directed at children under 13, and the app itself collects no personal information from anyone. Ads are limited to content suitable for a general audience.
If this policy changes, the updated version will appear here with a new date, and a material change will be noted in the app's release notes. If Power Cut ever gained a feature that sent more data anywhere, such as cloud saves or leaderboards, it would be described here plainly before the feature shipped.
