A private body map for your pain
Last updated: July 2026
PainKeeper is built privacy-first. Your health is personal, and the pain you record about it belongs to you and only you.
PainKeeper has no account and no servers. Everything you track stays on your device. We do not collect, store, or transmit your personal or health data.
We want to be completely transparent: PainKeeper does not collect any personal or health data.
Everything you create in PainKeeper is stored locally on your device, in app-private storage that other apps cannot read:
None of this is ever uploaded to a cloud server or shared with us or any third party.
PainKeeper requests only the minimum permissions needed, and the core tracker works without any of them:
| Permission | Purpose | Type |
|---|---|---|
| Notifications | Optional local reminders to check in, and the “did it help?” follow-up. No content leaves your device. | Optional |
| Run at startup | Re-schedules your local reminder after the phone restarts. Works entirely on-device. | Optional |
| Vibration | Subtle haptic feedback when you tap and confirm actions. | Optional |
| Internet | Used only by Google Play to process the optional one-time Pro purchase. No personal data is sent. | Billing only |
PainKeeper does not use your camera or photos, does not access your location or contacts, and never records audio. All pain tracking works fully offline.
PainKeeper is a personal tracking and note-keeping tool to help you stay organized and remember what you experienced. It is not a medical device and does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.
Any trends, patterns, or reports PainKeeper shows are simply summaries of what you entered. They are not clinical findings. Always consult a qualified healthcare professional about your symptoms and before making any health decisions. The doctor report is a convenience summary you can choose to share with your clinician; it is not a substitute for professional care.
PainKeeper is free. It offers one optional one-time in-app purchase, “PainKeeper Pro,” which unlocks extra features. There is no subscription and there are no ads.
Payments are processed entirely by Google Play Billing. We never see, receive, or store your payment details. Your Pro status is remembered locally on your device and, through Google Play, tied to your Google account so you can restore it after reinstalling.
PainKeeper can export your data to a single backup file so you can move to a new phone or keep a copy. This is completely under your control:
PainKeeper can generate a doctor report as a PDF or CSV file from your own entries. The file is created on your device and is only ever shared if you choose to send or save it. We never receive a copy.
You have complete control over your data:
Because nothing you record ever leaves your device, there is no data held on our servers to request deletion of.
PainKeeper is not directed at children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect any information from children. Since the app collects no data from any user, this policy applies equally to users of all ages.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. Since PainKeeper collects no personal data, changes would only reflect updates to app functionality or permissions.
