In short
Monsoon Sail has no account, no sign-up and no server. Your progress stays on your phone.
We never receive anything about you. The only data that leaves the device is what Google's advertising SDK collects to show the occasional ad between runs, and that data contains nothing from your game. Monsoon Sail Pro removes the ads, and with them that data.
What stays on your phone
Everything Monsoon Sail remembers is kept in one small file in the app's private storage on your device:
- Your progress: your best distance, how many runs you have sailed, and the jasmine and coins you have collected
- Your boats: which paper boats you own, which one you sail, and your upgrade levels
- Missions: your current missions and how far along each one is
- Settings: sound, music, haptics, steering sensitivity and graphics quality
- Small things the game needs: whether you have seen the tip about sheltering under awnings, and a count of runs since the last ad, so the ad rules below work
None of this is sent to us or to anyone else by the app. The game itself makes no network request of its own, and plays without a network.
No cloud backup. Monsoon Sail does not take part in Android's backup, so your progress is not copied to your Google account. If you uninstall the app or move to a new phone, your progress starts again.
Advertising
Monsoon Sail is free, and is paid for by an occasional full-screen ad. Ads appear only between runs, when you tap Sail again after a run: never in your first three runs, at most once every second run after that, and never twice within ninety seconds. There is never an ad while you are sailing, on the title screen or in the shop.
Ads are served by Google AdMob through the Google Mobile Ads SDK. The app asks only for ads suitable for a general audience (rated PG at most), and passes nothing about your game to the ads SDK. To serve and measure ads and to prevent fraud, the SDK collects and sends to Google:
- Device identifiers: your Android advertising ID and app set ID
- Approximate location, derived from your IP address
- Ad interactions: for example which ads were shown and whether they were tapped, and app launches
- Diagnostics: crash logs and performance information about the ads SDK

Consent. Where the law requires it, including in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, the app asks for your consent using Google's consent message before any ad is requested. You can change your choice later from the title screen, under "Privacy choices".
Your controls. You can reset or delete your advertising ID at any time in your phone's settings, under Google, then Ads.

Monsoon Sail does not ask for camera, storage, photo library, location, contacts, microphone, notifications, phone or SMS permission.
Purchases
Monsoon Sail is free to play. Monsoon Sail Pro is one optional payment, not a subscription: it removes the ads and adds two cosmetic paper boats. A player with Pro never has the advertising SDK started at all.
Payment is handled entirely by Google Play. We never see your card or UPI details, billing address or any part of the transaction. The app keeps only a yes-or-no flag that Pro is yours, and asks Google Play again each time it starts, which is how Pro comes back after a reinstall (use Restore purchase in the shop's Pro tab). Google Play's privacy policy covers the payment itself.
Jasmine flowers and coins are collected while you sail and spent in the game on boats and upgrades; they cannot be bought with money and have no value outside the game.
Deleting your data
- Uninstall the app, or clear its storage in Android settings, to remove everything it stored
- Reset or delete your advertising ID in your phone's Google settings to break the link with past ad data
There is nothing to request from us, because we hold nothing.
Children
Monsoon Sail is made for teenagers and adults. It is not directed at children under 13, and the app itself collects no personal information from anyone. Ads are limited to content suitable for a general audience.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will appear here with a new date, and a material change will be noted in the app's release notes. If Monsoon Sail ever gained a feature that sent more data anywhere, such as cloud saves or leaderboards, it would be described here plainly before the feature shipped.
