A fever log and medicine timer for children

KiddoSick is built to work without knowing anything about you or your child. There is no account to create, no server to send the record to, and no company on the other end reading it.
We do not collect, store, or transmit any of your data. Everything you record stays on your phone.
That is not a policy we chose to write kindly. It is how the app is built: there is no code in KiddoSick that sends your child's record anywhere, because there is nowhere for it to go.
KiddoSick collects nothing. To be specific, we do not gather:
There are no analytics tools, no advertising networks, and no third-party trackers in the app.
What you log is health information about a child, which is about as sensitive as data gets. It is treated accordingly.
Everything lives in app-private storage on your device: temperatures with the unit and the site you measured at, medicines and the intervals you entered, doses, symptoms, free-text notes, illness episodes, and each child's profile.
None of it is analysed by us, because none of it reaches us. The countdowns, the fever-free clock, the recurring-pattern strip and every alert are worked out on your phone, from your own entries, while the app is running in front of you.
Android's automatic cloud backup is switched on for this app. This is the one part of the page worth reading slowly, because it is a deliberate choice and the opposite of what several privacy-first apps do.
What that means: a copy of the app's data can be stored in your own Google account, by Android, and restored when you set up a new phone. It is end-to-end encrypted with a key derived from your device PIN, pattern or password. Google states it cannot read it, and we never see it at all — there is no developer access to Android Auto Backup and no copy reaches us.
The reason is the record itself. This app is offline and accountless, so without a backup a lost or broken phone means the whole illness history is gone. For a family tracking a fever that comes back every few weeks, that can be months of the evidence a doctor asked them to collect. Losing that to a dropped phone is a worse outcome than the backup, so the backup is on.
You can turn it off. It is your Google account, not ours: Settings → Google → Backup on most phones, either for everything or for KiddoSick alone. Nothing in the app depends on it, and the free export below is there either way.
Because this is your own OS-level backup rather than anything we collect, our Data safety declaration on Google Play remains "No data collected". We think saying so without explaining it would be technically true and practically misleading, which is why this section exists.
You can give each child a picture. It is entirely optional, and the bundled illustrations are there so you never have to put a photograph of a child into an app at all.
If you do choose one, it is copied into a private folder belonging to this app alone, resized down as it arrives, and never uploaded. No other app on your phone can read it. It does not appear in your shared photo library.
KiddoSick asks for no camera permission and no photo library permission. Pictures come through your phone's own photo picker, which hands back only the single image you chose and shows us nothing else.

KiddoSick does not request camera, photos or media, storage, microphone, location, contacts, or body sensors.
About the internet permission: the app's own code makes no network requests. That permission is added automatically by Google Play's billing library so the optional purchase can be processed. Nothing about you or your child is sent over it.
KiddoSick is not a medical device and does not diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any medical condition. Always consult a healthcare professional about your child's health. If you are worried about your child right now, contact your doctor or your local emergency number rather than an app.
KiddoSick is a record you keep and a timer that runs on numbers you entered. It is not a calculator.
The app never works out a dose. It does not know how much medicine to give and it will never suggest an amount. Every interval and daily maximum it counts down is one you typed in from your own package or your own doctor, and the app's job is to remember when you gave the last one so you do not have to at three in the morning. Weight and height are recorded because a clinician asks for them; nothing in the app calculates anything from either.
Where the app shows guidance — a fever in a very young baby, a rash that does not fade, trouble breathing — it tells you what to do and cites where the advice comes from. It never tells you what your child has. That is a doctor's job, and the app is written not to get in the way of it.
KiddoSick is free to download and use. There is one optional purchase, a single payment rather than a subscription.
Payment is handled entirely by Google Play. We never see or store your card details, billing address, or any part of the transaction. All the app keeps is a single yes-or-no flag on your device recording that the unlock is active.
Nothing about your child's safety is behind that payment. Logging, the dose timer, the countdown notification, every alert, the fever-free clock, the handoff card and the full export are free and stay free.
Google Play's own privacy policy covers the payment itself.
Export is free, and it covers everything the app has recorded — every child, every reading, every dose, every symptom and note — as a single JSON file.
The file is generated on your phone. Nothing is uploaded to make it. Where it goes afterwards is entirely your choice, through your phone's usual share options, and at that point it is covered by whatever app you send it to.
Import reads a file you choose and merges it into the record on this phone. It is how a second parent's phone catches up, and it is also your way out of the app entirely: your data is never held hostage.
Your data is yours and it is on your device, so removing it is straightforward:
There is nothing to request from us, because we hold nothing.
Two things worth naming. If Android's backup is on, deleting data on the phone does not by itself remove a copy already in your Google account; manage that from Settings → Google → Backup. And your purchase is recorded by Google Play rather than by us, so uninstalling does not cost you what you paid for — restore it from the paywall on a fresh install.
KiddoSick is for a parent or carer to use about a child. The app is not designed or marketed for children to use themselves.
It collects no data from anyone, of any age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children, because we do not collect personal information at all. Everything a parent records about their child stays on that parent's phone.
If this policy changes, the updated version will appear here with a new date, and a material change will be noted in the app's release notes.
If KiddoSick ever gained a feature that sent data anywhere, that would be described here plainly and before the feature shipped, not after.
