A private register of your family's gold

GoldKeeper has no account, no sign-up and no server that holds your register. Every piece you record, its photos, your family members, your pledges and your goals stay on your phone.
We never receive your register. The only data that leaves the device about you is what Google's advertising SDK collects to show ads in the free version. GoldKeeper Pro removes the ads, and with them that data.
Everything you enter is kept in the app's private storage on your device:
None of this is sent to us or to anyone else. Android's automatic backup is switched off for GoldKeeper, so none of it is copied to your Google account either.
When "Update rate automatically" is on (it is by default), the app asks our rate service for the day's international gold spot price in rupees, at launch and when you pull to refresh. The request contains no information about you or your register: only the app's public key and how many days of rates to return. Like any web request, it reveals your IP address to the service; we do not use it to identify you. Turn the setting off in Settings to stop these requests and enter rates yourself.
A backup, a valuation report (PDF) or an Excel export is created on your phone and goes only where you choose: a folder you pick, or an app you share it with, such as WhatsApp, email or Google Drive. Once you share a file, that app's own privacy policy applies to it. A backup contains your whole register and its photos, so keep it somewhere safe.
If you use pledge reminders (Pro), the app schedules notifications on your phone for three days before and on a pledge's due date. They are created and shown on the device; nothing is sent to a server. A reminder shows the piece's name and the lender, and may appear on your lock screen depending on your notification settings. Turn reminders off in Settings.
The free version shows occasional full-screen ads at natural pauses, for example after you save a piece or close a tool, served by Google AdMob through the Google Mobile Ads SDK. Ads never appear while you fill in a form, during a backup or restore, or in the first hour after you install the app.

The ads SDK does not receive anything from your register. This data goes to Google, not to us, and is handled under Google's Privacy Policy. See how Google uses information from apps that use its services at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
Consent. Where the law requires it, including in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, the app asks for your consent using Google's consent message before personalised ads are shown. You can change your choice later from Settings, under "Ad privacy choices".
Your controls. You can reset or delete your advertising ID at any time in your phone's settings, under Google, then Ads.

GoldKeeper does not ask for camera, storage, photo library, location, contacts, microphone, phone or SMS permission. When you add a photo, Android's own photo picker or camera app hands the app only the picture you choose.
GoldKeeper is a record-keeping app. It is not a bank, lender, jeweller or adviser. It does not buy or sell gold, and it does not offer, arrange or recommend loans.
The live rate is the international spot price converted to rupees. It excludes import duty and GST, so it is lower than jewellers' rates. Values, gains, exchange figures and loan estimates are indicative only; a jeweller, bank or lender may offer a different amount. Please rely on them for your own records, not for decisions without checking with the jeweller or lender concerned.
GoldKeeper is free to download. GoldKeeper Pro is one optional payment, not a subscription. It removes the ads and unlocks unlimited pieces and members, more photos, reports, backup and the pledged gold tracker.
Payment is handled entirely by Google Play. We never see your card or UPI details, billing address or any part of the transaction. The app keeps only the yes-or-no flag that Pro is unlocked. Google Play's privacy policy covers the payment itself.
There is nothing to request from us, because we hold nothing. Your Pro purchase is recorded by Google Play, so reinstalling does not lose it: use Restore purchase on the Pro page.
GoldKeeper is intended for adults managing their family's gold. It is not directed at children, and the app itself collects no personal information from anyone.
If this policy changes, the updated version will appear here with a new date, and a material change will be noted in the app's release notes. If GoldKeeper ever gained a feature that sent more data anywhere, it would be described here plainly before the feature shipped.
